Ingredients:
1 pound green beans, ends trimmed
Pot of water
1 tablespoon Kosher salt
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
8 large garlic cloves, peeled and
chopped coarsely
1/2 yellow onion, peeled and diced
1/2 stick butter
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt and pepper mix
Preparation:
Heat pot of water with 1 tablespoon of kosher salt to a rolling boil. Add beans and cook to desired doneness, about 6 to 8 minutes.
Shock beans in ice water, then strain in a colander and let drip dry.
In a Dutch oven or sauce pot heat extra virgin olive oil over medium heat and lightly brown garlic. Add onions and slowly cook to a golden brown color, about 5 minutes.
Add butter and beans and stir until butter has melted and beans are warm. Season with garlic powder and salt and pepper mix.
